Jack In The Box caught my attention...

Along with millions of Americans and those in many different countries, I sat on the couch and watched a four hour event called Super Bowl 43. I ate snacks which included chicken wings, mini quesadillas and even some starbursts. However, half-way through the Super Bowl, I started wanting a monster taco from Jack In The Box. Not a normal craving for me, so let me explain.

Those of you who watched the commercials as intently as I did, noticed this commercial from Jack In the Box...

So, of course I went to Hang in there Jack.com to see what they were up to. It was an interesting video post by someone at Jack In The Box confirming that Jack had been hit by a bus.

Well with my previous blog post, I posted that this video was one of my favorites of the Super Bowl and so I decided to check out Hang in there Jack.com again to see what they'd done with the page. To my surprise they have multiple video "updates" and various other websites that you can go to to gain more information on Jack's status. Hang in there Jack.com gives the visitors a way to write get-well cards, record get-well videos, an address to send get-well cards and you can also sign up for email and text message updates. I was BLOWN away!

This website is FULL of new media ways to keep posted on this beloved mascot of a fast food chain. And, if I remember correctly, I don't think I saw another fast food ad all Super Bowl. If I did, it didn't seem to have the same call to action that Jack In The Box had.

The Hang in there Jack.com site appeals to many different types of social networkers as well. With links to their Facebook and Twitter pages, both telling you that Jack's assistant is going to up taking over the pages and updating those who are concerned about Jack.

My curiosity wondered how far Jack In The Box would go with this so I went to their normal Jack In The Box.com site and the landing page for this site tells the visitor about the accident and gives the option to go to the Hang in there Jack.com page or to continue to the real Jack In The Box.com site. It's CRAZY!

SO needless to say, Jack In The Box.com has caught my attention and I will continue to follow the updates that come up and see how far they go with this campaign.

Until next time...
