Can people change?

I've been told the past few days that people can magically change and be everything you've ever wanted.

I'm skeptical and not falling for it.
What are your thoughts? Can it happen?

Until next time...

  1. People can change and do change...but definitely not magically.

People have to change because they want to.

With relationships, it can't be built upon the expectation to change- because someone is always going to end up disappointed and hurt. Or if not that, they're going to compromise in some way that they may not have originally been expecting.

I think I changed by being in a relationship- not my essence of being, I don't think, but some of my views on things. It's a good or bad change, depending on whom you ask, but I'm alright with it.

  2. Very difficult to alter core beliefs and life-long philosophies. Character, or the lack thereof, runs deep.

  3. There are a few things you can't change, how you are brought up impacts what you believe in now and the type of person you are. Your core beliefs (god, how you want your kids to be raised, the way you view your parents, what you want out of a friendship) can't be changed. You can change habits like eating, smoking, drinking etc... but you can never change a person. I feel like I've told you all of this before once upon a time :P
